Corn starch material is used to convert into polymer and raisins are developed that are similar to plastic raisins but are made from renewable resources. Corn starch raisins are then used to create Corn Starch products. All of the corn starch products biodegrade in a reasonable timeframe (approx. less than three years) compared to conventional plastic that can be found after hundreds of years.
Corn Starch products are supplied by SPI Bio and are compliant with the European Norm EN-13432, and AUS standard AS4736-2006 issued by Australasian Bioplastics Association, which is regarded as the strictest standards for evaluating biodegradability and compostability.
Materials or products in compliance with Australian Standard AS 4736-2006 specifically require a commercial composting facility to decompose. Please check the recycling list from your local council for details of green waste collection services.
Corn starch products are microwave safe to use. Do not reheat in the oven.
